For 100 years, the American Heart Association has been fighting heart disease and stroke and helping families and communities thrive.
To help independent and assisted living facilities move toward continuously improved health and quality of life for their residents, and to help consumers make better informed choices about facilities, the American Heart Association launched the Healthy Senior Living certification program.
This certification establishes a framework for evaluating facilities based on the American Heart Association’s scientific guidelines for promoting cultures of health in independent and assisted living facilities. The program aims to help facilities move toward improved health and quality of life for their residents and to help consumers make better informed choices about facilities.
