CARES® is an award-winning series of dementia care training and certification programs developed with the Alzheimer’s Association and recognized by CMS. The programs use the evidence-based CARES® Dementia 5-Step Method™ and incorporate evidence-based practices from the Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. Topics include the CARES Dementia 5-Step Method, behavior as communication, safety, pain, dementia-related behavior, activities of daily living, end-of-life, serious mental illness, and elder abuse. The training is appropriate for staff at all levels and meets state and federal dementia training requirements. Continuing education is available for long-term care administrators, nurses, and other professional disciplines.
